The title of this painting is "Confrontation".  A bull elephant, before charging, will most likely put on a display of trumpeting and ear flapping.  Their beautiful ivory tusks are in demand hence the diminishing numbers of large tusked elephants. They are known to be one of the "Big Five" of dangerous African animals.
